Just Jess.

a 20-something Boston girl recently transplanted in NYC; approaching life with sarcasm, humor and quite a bit of laughter. Running, fluent in movie quotes and trying to figure it all out. Oh, and I'm usually pretty heavily caffeinated.

Boston Marathon Training: 12 Weeks Out; Treadmill 7 Miles

COUNT IT.

That was not an enjoyable one and it felt like the longest run…ever. But it is complete, and my stomach felt alright for the most part (I think I’m fighting the stomach bug that’s going around - yay!). It feels good to know my week’s miles are complete and I was able to log them all even through some obstacles. Also, Donut Wars on the Food Network is not motivational television, just FYI.

Time: This is far from accurate, because treadmill struggles, but I finished around 61 minutes (roughly 8:40 min/mi pace, MEH), give or take a few seconds. I’m really looking forward to the heat wave we’re getting tomorrow - my 14 miles on Saturday is going to be beautiful!

Injury Status: Knees were alright due to extensive pre-run rolling, and my ankle held up pretty well. It loosens up as I continue running. Whether that’s a good thing, the world may never know! My hips are starting to hate the treadmill, too, so that’s pretty cool they’re on my side.

Donation Link: To $5,000 (towards Cancer Care)!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m currently knee-deep in The Fault in Our Stars (thanks to a few of you) and will probably not sleep tonight due to needing to finish it in one sitting.

Sweet dreams! View high resolution
