Just Jess.

a 20-something Boston girl recently transplanted in NYC; approaching life with sarcasm, humor and quite a bit of laughter. Running, fluent in movie quotes and trying to figure it all out. Oh, and I'm usually pretty heavily caffeinated.

Tuesday Coffee Date
Looks like I’ll be running via treadmill this evening because a) I couldn’t get my butt out of bed this morning and b) the Polar Vortex is a fierce one.
I’m a little bit homesick. It just hit me, and I noticed I haven’t really been myself for the past few days - and yesterday I realized what it was. I MISS HOME. My sister, dad, nephew, Cheryl, all of my friends up there…I MISS YOU GUYS!
Two of my girlfriends back home tried bringing me to the casting for this season’s The Bachelor. Thank the LORD I chose not to go…this is one mess of a season. I would have left on day one probably.
I’ve been caring less and less about how my hair looks these days. I have realistically only been putting half the energy into straightening it - and I’m okay with it. I’m either growing up/becoming more fashionable/my hair preferences have changed.
There’s a new bar/restaurant literally right below my apartment. AND their happy hour is ridiculous: $6 wine/$4 beer and snacks! You kiddin’ me? I’m there. It will be like I’m on HIMYM and live above the local hangout spot.
Today’s a day that I hope flies by, but I feel like I may hit a wall around 2pm. Here’s to optimistic magnetism (yes, I’m reading that book again) for making this a wonderful day!
My oatmeal is calling my name. I forgot raisins, so I’m a bit distraught. But I’ll manage…I think.
G’day, you amazing people, you.
This Tuesday Coffee Date is presented to you from the desk of Jess Cole, NYC. Random, inefficient, pointless, but sometimes humorous - I’m glad you stopped by.
Stay classy.
